This decorative vintage table lamp is a lovely example of unique Asian lighting. This carved Indian lamp depicts the goddess Indra. The lamp has bags of character and vintage charm. This beautiful lamp will make a gorgeous accent piece in your home.
The technical bit-
Probably originating in India This small lamp has an intricate carved section of what is probably bovine bone. The carving is possibly of the female goddess Indra with the serpent goddess Vritra and is likely to have been made in the 1950’s.
When found the base was badly painted with black paint over its original white and the bulb holder was missing. The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, the base repainted and a new bulb holder fitted. Fully rewired with a new push button switch and an e14 bulb holder it is finished with a vintage pleated shade.
