The technical bit -
This antique Victorian rain measuring gauge dates from the mid to late 1800’s and is a rare item. When found the body and internal mechanisms were in good condition and working. Sadly the enamel dial and glass front were missing but have been painstakingly recreated with Perspex old clock dials and internet images to recreate the printed dial card. Overall this is a beautiful example for display. Without damaging the unit in any way a low voltage Lighting system has been created to illuminate it internally with an antique lamp base standing securely (with heavy duty hook & eyes strips)in the funnelled top. It is complete with a white marbled glass shade with tassels. Illuminated with an led bulb on a mains low voltage power supply.
