This ornate Art Nouveau lamp is the perfect lighting for your vintage British decor. This will make a gorgeous accent light in a vintage setting or in a lounge with a more modern contemporary look as an eye catching statement piece.
The technical bit-
This stunning Art Nouveau brass lamp base dates from the 1890’s and was originally an oil lamp. The reservoir font would have been mounted on the gallery with a burner and glass shade above.Judging by the electrical fitting when found this had probably been converted to electric in the 1920’s but was unsafe to use with no earth connection. It has been cleaned but not polished so as to preserve its aged patina before being rewired on new earthed 3 core cable and fitted with an E14 double insulated bulb holder. Fitted with a vintage style braided 3 core cable together with a contemporary inline switch. The overall look is finished with a vintage style beaded glass shade supported by a harp fitting. There is one strand of bead missing on the shade.
For overseas buyers this can be supplied with a EU or US plug
For US buyers this lamp will be tested in a 240V to 120V stepdown voltage converter which will ensure that it will be suitable for a US supply.
